Novon publishes short articles whose primary purpose is the establishment of nomenclature in vascular plants and bryophytes. All articles are peer-reviewed by qualified, independent reviewers. This journal is published by the Missouri Botanical Garden as part of its mission to discover and share knowledge about plants and their environments, in order to preserve and enrich life.

Moving walls are generally represented in years.
In calculating the moving wall, the current year is not counted.
For example, if the current year is 2008 and a journal has a 5 year moving wall, articles from the year 2002 are available.
